Harrison Bergeron Questions

Harrison Burgeron Questions

1: 1 detail about their society is that Everyone who is above average must wear handicaps to be equal. The second detail is that the government will do anything to keep these laws in check the 3rd detail is that George's parents aren't even human anymore because they aren't allowed to think for themselves. In my opinion their society is oppressed by the government in a ruse to keep everyone equal.

2: I think George and Hazel are more like robots than humans because  they have  lost their human right to think for themselves and also their humanity, I think this because when george was sad and crying over Harrison's death, the handicap made him forget all about  his death.

3: The 2081 government tried to oppress and make everyone equal in an effort to stop wars and conflicts but it might not be as good as it seems, which is why he wanted to rebel.

5: The ballerina has changed from the beginning to end by rebelling with Harrison to take off the handicaps and I know this because in the story she joined Harrison in the rebellion of the HB general.

6: The fact that Harrison was able to persuade the citizens shows that he can overrule the government's laws an  start a rebellion.

7: The government want  everyone to wear handicaps to keep everyone equal.

8: I would describe their reaction as inhumane because if a parent seen their child die they would be stricken with grief for the loss of their kid but the handicaps made that impossible because George couldn't think straight and hazel didnt  even know what happened.
